Image resource

The image here is from "stock.xchng", my favourite free stock photo site. At the time of writing, it has 195,871 photos, and quite a lot of them are completely free to use. They are very conveniently categorised and the site has an excellent search function where you can even filter by terms of use. The photos are contributed by users and most of them only request that you notify them if you use their work. You need to register to download full-size images, but that shouldn't be a problem. Check it out!

A new mailing list for teachers using technology

A new mailing list has been set up by Dennis Newson for teachers interested in using the Internet in teaching. To subscribe, send an e-mail to the address below and follow the instructions from then on:

Here's an excerpt from the invitation to the list by Dennis (I hope he doesn't mind):

In connection with a presentation given at the recent 4th. British Council ELT Conference in Berlin-Spandau, I created a new list, SPANDAU06, which wants to focus on assembling a group of people who wish to use the internet for personal and professional development in the area of ICT (information & communication technology) and TEFL. It is intended to be a group offering support and sharing information and experience in this field.
I've already joined - see you there!
